The ABC’s of Salvation

Intro: The greatest gift ever given to mankind was when Jesus Christ sacrificed his body on the cross to make atonement for our sins. He provided salvation to every sinner who would freely accept this free pardon. Getting saved is as simple as ABC.

I. Acknowledge that we are sinners-  ” For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God ” Romans 3:23

A. This verse tells us that we are all sinners. This is the first step in being saved. We must realize we are lost and in need of a savior.

B. Romans 5:8

II. Believe that Jesus died for our sins — ” That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart… ” Romans 10:9

A. Putting our faith and trust in the fact that Jesus died for us. Believing in our heart that he freely gave his life, then resurrected from the dead, to pay our sin debt.

B. ” For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness ” Romans 10:10

C. ” How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? ” Romans 10:14

III. Confess our sins to Christ and ask forgiveness — ” That if thou shalt confess ”  Romans 10:9

A. We must confess to him that we are lost and that we believe in his atoning work on the cross.

B. ” With the mouth confession is made unto salvation ” Romans 10:10

If you have never accepted Christ into your heart, I encourage you to confess your sins and ask him into your heart as your personal Saviour.
