Pulling Together/ I Corinthians 3:6-9

What It Takes to Make a Great Church Sermon Series # 8.  One vital part of having a great church is working together. The scripture we read says that ” we are laborers together with God.” Everyone should be willing to share in the workload and pull together for the Glory of God.

I. Labor  — John 9:4 ” I must work the works of him…”

A. Sometimes we fail to labor as we should

B. Strong Backed Christians often end up carrying most of the work load while others slack

II. Lots of Good Things Can Happen When We Pull Together — Psalm 133:1

A. Much more pleasant

B. More work accomplished

C. Make sure senseless immaturity doesn’t keep us from working together

III. Loads are Lighter When Carried by a Group — Galatians 6:2

A. Help to assist others with their burdens – this will produce Joy in our own lives — Philippians 1 & 2

1. Jesus First — Phil. 1 — Paul explains that above all else Christ should be preeminent.

2. Others Second — Phil 2 — Let each esteem others better than themselves

3. Yourself Last

When you are discouraged, feeling down, or when circumstances are not going the way you would like, I can offer a simple solution that will help to restore some of the joy and happiness to your heart. Go out and find someone that needs help and offer a hand of kindness to their life. Helping others will bring true joy to your heart.
